Go With Your Gut Testing gets many questions each day about our testing services, and we're happy to answer all of your questions. However, you might be able to save yourself some time and learn even more than you hoped for by reading through our frequently asked questions below.   • Is this test covered by insurance?
    Not usually, but consider it as an investment in your health. No medications, no more visits to specialists. How much is your time worth? How much is it worth to take control of your destiny?
  • Where do I go to get my blood test?
    You can come to our lab in Cherry Hill, NJ or, in some cases, we can come to your home or office. Lab Corp and Quest will not provide this test.
  • Do I need to fast?
    No, but do drink lots of water. Allow a 6-hour window after taking any meds. Allow 5 days after taking antibiotics or experiencing an illness. Those on chemotherapy should have blood drawn a day or two before the next treatment.
  • Which test should I take?
    That depends on your lifestyle. Please call to discuss what’s best for you.
  • Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
    No. This is a simple blood test. We don’t do surgery or offer medications. Certainly, you can consult with your physician. Many doctors are just as curious to find out what your sensitivities are.
  • Does this mean I’ll never be able to eat my favorite food again?
    No! When done correctly, your leaky gut will be restored. Therefore, most food can be eaten again in moderation.
  • Why can’t I just purchase the test kit outright?
    This is an investment in your health — the most important investment you can make. I want you to get the most benefit from your investment.
  • How can I get the most out of knowing my sensitivities?
    When you get your results, make a meal plan. Plan out at least four breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Go food shopping. Make sure you have the non-inflammatory food (everything in your green list) in your house so that you don’t get tempted to cheat.
  • How did I get the leaky gut to begin with?
    Many factors affect your gut lining, including medications, antibiotics, toxins in food and non-food, stress, and loss of hormones.
  • Why would I reintroduce reactive food items if I know they cause inflammation?
    Because it’s good to know what you CAN eat again without any negative response. You may come across a food like lasagna that has multiple ingredients. If you develop digestive issues, headache, anxiety after eating it, you need to know which ingredient is the culprit. Plus, when done correctly, you will have a new, gut — with tight junctures. You should be able to eat most food.
  • How much does it cost?
    Panels start at $250.However, we really need to discuss what panel is the best option for you. It’s best to do it the right way the first time. Many people have sensitivities to healthy foods that would never be eliminated from your diet. In addition, sensitivities can take up to 72 hours to show up. So you could eating something on Monday and not get a reaction until Wednesday
  • Why can’t I just do an elimination diet?
